Sometimes, things don't work out the way you planned. Instead of meeting my Nebraska friends in Prague over the weekend, I ended up bumming around Wroclaw. Not that there's anything wrong with that--Wroclaw is a very pleasant place. I simply had my heart set on tackling Lacey in the Czech Republic. But, when you can't go to Prague (well, in all technicality, we could have gone to Prague...and slept on park benches), the Japanese Garden in the next best thing.
See how I can make pretty things with my camera? If you use your imagination, you can pretend to see the St. Charles Bridge in the background. Do you see it? Pretend harder!
This is my favorite picture of the entire weekend. I have no idea how Iva made this face, but it's very impressive. This manipulation of facial muscles took a great deal of skill.

Nina's mother and sister were visiting Wroclaw for the weekend. Steffi and I met them for piwo at Spiz, where they brew the best beer in the city (after dealing with "crazy waiter-man with bad haircut" at the coffee shop, we were in desperate need of piwo). At Spiz, there's carmel beer, and honey beer, and dark beer...All and all it was a very nice weekend in Wroclaw...I just had myself all excited to see familiar faces. My new friends are wonderful, and I am so grateful to have them in my life. But this weekend, when I had time to think, I really started to miss these girls and our Latin dance parties.

Cinco de Stepho!!
Happy birthday to me! I got my post-card from Krakow in the mail today!! Perfect timing, lady.
Sorry to hear those crazy chicas didn't make it over to see you this weekend. I take comfort in the fact that they shall be just as crazy when you return, and I'm sure there will be plenty of latin dance parties to come in your future.
