Education Abroad

My new prized possession: a list of "bad words" in Polish, German, and Turkish (courtesy of Emila, Zehra, Steffi, and Nina). Unfortunately, I'm starting to confuse Polish curse words with other vocabulary. Last night, Emila was giving Zehra and I a random lesson--which consisted of her pointing at objects in our flat and asking us to give th Polish name. She pointed to a coffee cup, and I used one of the words from my list rather than the correct word "kubek." Apparently, with great power comes the responsibility of knowing the context of what comes out of your mouth.Steffi felt it was inappropriate to have only a "bad words" list. So, she taught me "nice words" as well. The "nice words" list also has an illistration for every word, including a rabbit that looks like a pig and an evil mouse eyeing a bit of cheese.
My flatmates have discovered my blog. So after Zehra reads this, she will shout "Maggie! You are crazy!" from the other room (or she may come all the way to my room to tell me that I am out of my mind--it's hard to make an accurate prediction). And I may be crazy, but my international cursing capability is unmatched...at least in Ashton Nebraska.
I know Steph likes these, so here's a belated Cinco de Steph-O gift (Monday was her birthday--everyone please take a moment to remind her that she is old):
I also got new bed clothes; Honey Joe is no longer being stared down by a cheetah.
Important Info: My German counterpart (aka Lacey) has added photos of her semester in Marburg to her blog (which is convientely linked to mine). Ya'll should check that out.

I love the lists!! What great flatmates you have, teaching you all these curse words (and nice words, too of course).

Plus!! That first sunset picture might just be my favorite one yet!! I love it! I think I'm gonna have to make a calendar or something, with a Polish Sunset picture for each month.
