Packin' Up and Movin' On

I'm currently in the process of attempting to stuff the remnants my Polish life into a duffle bag. As a result, my flat has thrown up. In the last few days, there's been lots of washing, disposing, and rearranging. This morning, my kitchen resembled a Chinese laundry mat:
Naturally, no one wants to hang out in a mess...or spend time packing and cleaning. Instead, Diana, Lance, Chucky, and I spent a few hours at Wrocław's botanical garden. It lived up to all Magda from Romania's hype. At the botanical garden, there is shiny, odd-looking modern art:And hasta's like my mama has in her garden:There's even Pope John Paul II clemantis--it's a holy pant (We also saw a nun in this section of the garden. How's that for irony?).Group shot:Lance and Chucky are new to the whole concept of "taking one normal and one goofy picture"--they didn't quite understand. Diana and I are old pros; we've had lots of practice on the foutain in the Rynek.Surfing Wrocław style:Over the last five months, I think I've photographed the Cathedral from every possible angle in all types of weather--I still can't get enough of it. It's my favorite building in the city. The church of the Holy Cross:Voldemort (a Harry Potter character for all you non-pop culture/literary folks):This last picture has one purpose: to make Steffi jealous. Here I am with lots of Polish children--the picture she was always plotting and conspiring to take. Lesson to be learned: never go back to Bavaria without my permission. You never know when the school tour group will wander into your photos.

Hi Maggie:
I work with your mom at the bank & consider her a good friend. Oh yeah, I am the goofy-looking one behind the teller line.

I've been following your blog for the past several months & wanted you to know that I have really enjoyed it. Every time there is a new posting, your mom tells me about it.

Some of your pics have inspired me to put on my 'places to go list'.

Poland is a trip of a lifetime, one you'll always remember.
I look forward to seeing you when you get back.

My friends from abroad are currently trying to get me to pack up and move to San Francisco.

I have a feeling if I lived there, I too would be drying my clothes in my kitchen.
