Adventures on Odra

Before I discuss our outings on the river, I promised that I would publicize a miracle:
The Bavarian Cooked
...and no one died. Actually, this strawberry cake was quite tastey. Though Jan did ruin the appeal of the whipped cream in a can by telling us all about how unhealthy it was (he can read the Polish labels). Nonetheless, well done Steffi.
Monday night, there was a party on one of the river boats that take the tourists through the city on the Odra River. Unfortuneatley, there is very little to do for three hours on a river boat. Your options are limited to taking pictures, drinking, cooking sausage, or harrassing Hi from Vietnam as to why he came out of the Women's Toilet. I rotated equally between all my options.
This is the most disgusting piwo ever. Do NOT buy this--it tastes like carmel cough medicine. Very icky. Steffi has the good stuff.
And the picture taking begins.
Zehra also likes to take pictures...and hers are usually better than mine.My Gremlin:My favorite little Turkish person:My flatmates and Dilak (who eats every-other meal in our flat, so she could constitute a part-time flatmate):My favorite part of Wrocław: This is where you can cook your dinner...as long as you're willing to stand gaurd over your sausage and bat away begging Brits and Londoners who keep mistaking your food for their own.
Galen and I decided that we are the only "Non-Dumbass" Americans. He's a Philosopher and I study Literature, so we've got it all figured out...though neither of us has any idea what to do with our degrees. We're sneaky. And really big dorks. This is Phillip from Ethics, Polish Lit, and Polish Society in Transistion--he's pretty cool. Who would like to join me in force feeding him a sandwhich?
Nina rocking Phillip's sunglasses:This is my new favorite picture of all time--it may even rank above Sorin on the hippo (which has held the honor of being my favorite since March):Sunset courtesey of Zehra:Tuesday, we returned to the river for an hour of kayaking:Diana and I were the "Multicultural Boat." We worked very hard to be better than the "German/Bavarian Boat"--we didn't want to give Sorin another reason to refer to us as "lazy girls."
Sometimes, you just have to smile really big while you're in a boat.I really don't know what this was; after four months, I've given up on taking nice pictures. We're big dorks...but it's so much fun.

So, here's my thoughts as I scrolled through your blog post.

4th picture down)
"Maggie...you are so gangsta"

"Those sausages look abnormally large."

(more like a caption on seeing the picture after "and really big dorks")
"My names Maggie. I wear a harness."

"Ooo! Zehra's sunset is amazing!"

(5th kayaking photo>
"I take it back...there is nothing at all gangsta about this pose"
