Grandma and Grandpa Mitteis sent me a care package with Oreos and real American peanut butter. So, I had to introduce my flatmates and friends to American snacks.

Nina thought it was so strange that the cookies were black--I think Nina has a new addiction. She and Steffi started discussing whether or not they had seen Oreos in Germany. And then, she started asking about all the differant things I eat peanut butter with. Zehra liked Oreos as well; she thought the peanut butter was a strange addition, but she seemed to like it. Steffanie went to high school in Mississippi for a year, so she knew all about American snacks that taste so good and yet are very bad for you. Between, the four of us, Kasia, and Emilka (and Ben from down the hall), all the Oreos and all of my milk have dissapeared. But, it was nice to have that little taste of home and to share it with my friends. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa! I am now going to conserve my peanut butter--I'm rationing it out on a day-to-day basis.
My new discovery:

It's a friut and vegetable stand. "Owoce" means "fruits" and "warzywa" is "vegetables."
"Jarzynka" is the name of this particular stand. According to Kasia (verified via my Polish/English dictionary), "jarzynka" is the singular form of "vegetable."

Wow! How Polish is that? Do you think you could bring a sign home? I bet no one would notice it in your suitcase. That is just freak'n amazing!
Do your flatmates like the Oreos with Peanut Butter on them? Did you demonstrate the Oreo commercial where they have the licking contest? Better get busy!!
I just have one simple question...Do they have pineapple tidbits in Poland? I know that pineapple is a fruit, but if they have it in Poland that would answer a lot of my questions about your mother.
1st: Love the picture in the title at the top. Is that new, or am I only today aware of it?
2nd: If I were to have taken a poll when I was abroad, I would say that Oreos and Peanut Butter were the top two things American students missed most. So kudos to the grandparents being on top of things :)
3rd: So of course, oreos and peanut butter are fantastic, but they are OMGAMAZING together. You get 2 points. Heck make it 5 since you're spreading the tradition. (Everyone who's ever made fun of me for combining the two, you lose 10 points)
4th: I highly recommend bringing home a sign purchased or *cough*otherwise obtainable *cough* *cough* poppins poster..ehm. Sorry. I think my cold is still wearing off.
P.S.
So "Jarzynka" = Vegetable? ...heehee.
Update? Pwease?
